In a month’s time we’ll be welcoming ABTA members, Partners and colleagues from across the wider industry at ABTA’s annual Travel Convention in Türkiye. It’s an important point in the ABTA calendar – a chance for industry leaders to come together and be both informed and inspired as we look to the future. 

This year’s event offers a great opportunity to look at how we realise the industry’s potential on a number of fronts: growth and customer demand; embracing new technologies – particularly AI; becoming more sustainable, including addressing climate change; and developing the workforce of the future. 

As well as the thought-provoking business sessions featuring experts in their fields, there are also many opportunities for delegates to network with each other.  

Bringing experts and industry together is an important part of what we do for members, and we’re pleased to be able to offer some new events this year which respond to the topics you’ve told us you’d like to learn more about. 

In a couple of weeks we’ll be holding our first ever training event on planning for extreme weather and natural disasters – an important topic for staff in your businesses to be familiar with to be able to respond appropriately, should your customers be caught up in such an event. We’ll also be hosting our first Claims Handling for Cruise event which looks at the specific legal issues that may arise from a cruise holiday. Another new event for October covers data protection for marketing, which will provide essential knowledge on key data protection regulations, compliance strategies, and effective data management practices. 

It’s also worth reminding you that we have lots of opportunities to get together with ABTA’s experts – including our monthly video conference call and our member meetings in the regions and nations.
