Tourism for Good

ABTA’s work with members and the wider industry

ABTA’s “Tourism for Good” report guides our sustainability efforts and under this approach, we help our members in developing holistic sustainability strategies tailored to their specific business needs, encompassing their operations, supply chains, and customer interactions.

Within our work we focus on community impact, human rights (including labour rights, child safeguarding, and anti-discrimination), environmental protection, decarbonisation, waste management (including single-use plastics), destination management, and animal welfare.

We provide a range of guidance for members as well as staff training. Our acclaimed sustainability conferences and Carbon Literacy for Travel and Tourism training bring together industry experts to deliver engaging topics and discussions, helping members address key industry issues and enhance their skills.

ABTA members are making significant progress in measuring, reporting and reducing their carbon footprint and addressing sustainability in a holistic way across key areas such as:

  • Community Tourism
  • Human Rights
  • Climate Action
  • ESG reporting
  • Animal Welfare
  • Consumer engagement
