Future Travel Coalition The Future Travel Coalition is a cross-industry group comprising associations, trade bodies, and consortiums that represent a significant proportion of the UK's organised travel market, encompassing both leisure and business travel, as well as inbound and outbound operations.The group collaborates on shared lobbying priorities, across all four UK nations, to amplify and align the industry’s voice where there are common goals.To gauge the temperature of the industry, the Coalition conducts bi-annual surveys (spring and autumn) of its respective members. The Coalition’s latest survey (April 25) showed there has been a small uplift in trading confidence from 69% in Autumn 2024 to 72% in Spring 2025. The Coalition’s current priorities are:Demonstrating the value of international travel to politicians, the UK Government and devolved administrations, as well as other industry stakeholders. Advocating for measures to enable businesses to grow:Support for tourism businesses to operate successfully, including through reform of business rates to support high streets.Avoiding layering of taxes on tourism – including local tourism taxes, air passenger duty and other levies.Addressing the UK’s falling international competitiveness with regard to international travel.Improving UK-EU relations.Delivering measures to support the industry’s transition to net zero.Address challenges stemming from new border controls across Europe and the world. Development of robust tourism strategies which encompass all aspects of the UK travel and tourism industry, including outbound and inbound travel.
