WTTC’s President to open ABTA’s Delivering Sustainable Travel Conference

Julia Simpson, President at the World Travel and Tourism Council has confirmed she will deliver the opening address and share data into the climate footprint of travel and tourism at ABTA's upcoming Delivering Sustainable Travel Conference. 

The event will be moderated by ABTA’s Director of Industry Relations, Susan Deer. Susan will join Julia Simpson and others including Tom Armitt, Global Manager, Projects & Partnerships at Planeterra, to reflect on the progress made by the industry since our last conference a year ago, as well as the steps still to take to meet industry goals. 

Carol Rose, ABTA’s Head of Sustainability, will be discussing with travel businesses the steps that they are taking or planning to take to reduce their carbon footprints and deliver wider sustainability strategies across their businesses. 

Across the day different speakers will be exploring different ways to take an active role in sustainability and industry representatives be demonstrating how different sectors are making progress, sharing advice and guidance on how peers can do the same. Hear from speakers across the sector including winter sports, rail travel, aviation and group travel. 

ABTA’s Delivering Sustainable Travel Conference is being held on 24 May at Four Communications’ offices at the Hickman Building in London.
