Health and Safety Risk Management and Auditing - why it is crucial as the travel industry begins to re-open

Author: Mireia Delgado, Business Director, Preverisk

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has been devastating to the travel and tourism industry. However, mass vaccination, public health preventative measures and necessary health and safety plans have proven to be the perfect formula for the industry to face 2022 with higher expectations.

As people begin to travel again, expectations are high regarding customer safety and wellbeing. Now more than ever, it's time to ensure that your product portfolio contains well established audit and risk assessment procedures. By preparing and training staff and implementing health and safety self-assessment systems and methodologies, you will be able to map establishments within your portfolio with the highest and lowest risk. This provides reassurance to customers that you are understanding, managing and reducing the risks associated with your products and services.

On Thursday 21 October, ABTA is holding a new virtual training day ‘An Introduction to Health and Safety Risk Management and Auditing for Travel’. The training will give practical guidance on how to carry out risk assessments of the products and services you offer, and how to effectively manage the auditing process across accommodation, transportation and excursions.

Preverisk are pleased to be event partner for this training day, and will be sharing practical guidance on basic risk assessment concepts, and how different audits for accommodation, transfers and excursions should be set up.

Preverisk will be joined by ABTA, Kennedys and IGI.
