A new way of hearing from members around the country

We’ve been working with the ABTA Council of Regions to develop the way we engage with members across the nations and regions and have a programme of activity which helps us meet and hear from more members face to face.

Our new regional programme for 2023 will have two main elements. The first will be an ABTA-hosted event taking place once a year in each region. If you went to one of our regional meetings last year then you may have noticed that the format has changed; the sessions are much more of a two-way exchange, with only short and informal updates from ABTA. The emphasis is on knowledge exchange – whether between you and ABTA or you and your peers – all with the aim of helping you run your business. This format proved popular last year and will continue.

We’ll also be getting out and about to where members are already gathering, for example by taking part in some of the Travel Gossip roadshows and attending industry events, such as the Geordie Ball and Northern Ireland Travel News Big Travel Show.

And our monthly video conference calls continue to be another way for us to provide updates to members and respond to pressing questions, wherever you live and work. These are the vehicle we now use for more formal business updates from the ABTA team which might previously have been shared at our regional events. Our next call is on 14 February and details of how to register are available here

As I said, this new approach has been developed in collaboration with the Council of Regions and we’ve really valued their feedback and ideas on this topic.

You can find a list of our current regional programme here, with details of other activity to be added shortly. We look forward to seeing you at these events.
