Easter getaway

Tomorrow sees the start of the Easter Bank Holiday getaway when large numbers of people will be taking advantage of the four days off work for a well-deserved break.

Feedback from Members and airports suggest over two million holidaymakers will be heading overseas over the Bank Holiday, with mainland Spain and the Canary Islands popular choices for an Easter break, along with Turkey and Egypt.

Many people will also be taking a holiday in the UK – and will get to enjoy the unseasonably warm weather that is on the way.

As part of our media activity, we are also highlighting that, for those people who haven’t booked their Summer holiday yet, the Easter weekend is a great time to plan and book a trip. ABTA spokespeople have been on local BBC and commercial radio stations this week highlighting that there is still a lot of choice and availability of holidays for this Summer at good prices. We’ve also been pointing out that the Brexit extension gives holidaymakers certainty that all arrangements for travel over the foreseeable future will remain as they are today.
