Gatwick Airport flight disruption

Following the drone activity which has caused severe disruption at Gatwick airport, a limited number of flights are scheduled for departure and arrival. Gatwick continues to advise passengers to check the status of their flight with their airline before travelling to the airport as departures and arrivals will be subject to delays and cancellations.

Customers imminently due to fly to or from Gatwick airport today should liaise with their travel provider and airline to establish if their arrangements are affected. Travellers are also advised to carry essential items, such as medication, baby formula, nappies, phone chargers, in their hand luggage.

Where flights have been cancelled customers will be entitled to arrange alternative flights with their airline, discuss other alternative travel options or get a refund. Customers booked on package holidays, which have been cancelled due to the disruption, will be offered a replacement booking by their tour operator or a full refund of the holiday cost. No compensation is due as this situation is outside of the control of the tour operator or airline.

Disruption may continue in the coming days, so customers due to travel imminently should also check for e-mail alerts from their travel company or on the travel company’s website for updates.
