Sign up for Regional Business Meetings: Brexit and PTRs hot topics

ABTA experts are making their way around the country talking to Members in the latest round of Regional Business Meetings, where topics such as the Package Travel Regulations (PTRs) and Brexit are on the agenda.

There has been lots of good discussion around the practical implementation issues with PTRs, including how to comply with the information requirements, and more complex questions such as

when is a transfer more than a transfer and it becomes a journey in its own right.

We’re also providing updates on ABTA’s latest training modules including talking to customers about FCO advice and accessible tourism, as well as reporting back on the campaigning work ABTA has been doing on health and safety over the summer.

Unsurprisingly, given the stage of negotiations, Brexit has also attracted lots of discussion. We’ve been talking through our guidance for Members on contingency planning for a no-deal scenario and providing updates on our latest lobbying activities.

This week we’ve been back in Brussels meeting with officials and last Monday we hosted a roundtable with Robin Walker MP, the Minister responsible for the interests of the UK’s tourism industry in Brexit. During the session with the Minister we covered a range of issues including VAT TOMS, posting workers abroad and no-deal planning.

If you haven’t attended a regional meeting yet, or are still to book your place, there is still time to do so. Visit abta.com/regional-business-meetings for full dates and details.
