ABTA launches Travel Money - its first foreign exchange service for customers

ABTA – The Travel Association is today launching its own bespoke foreign exchange service which has the ABTA badge of confidence. ABTA’s new Forex service, ABTA Travel Money, will offer customers a range of over 60 currencies – one of the largest ranges available in the market - all at competitive online rates and commission free.

Customers have a choice of two delivery options: Click and Collect – pay online and collect 60 seconds later from one of over 190 locations nationwide, or home delivery – order online by 2.30pm and your travel money will be delivered to your home the next working day or a nominated day within seven days of purchase. Delivery is free on orders over £500, whereas under this amount a delivery charge will apply.

ABTA Commercial Director Claire Biddle said:

“This is the first time that ABTA has offered a foreign exchange service and it’s right to do so now. In a volatile, unstable world, customers are increasingly looking for and need reliable, trustworthy services. The ABTA badge of confidence, built up over 70 years of trading, stands for quality and high standards and ABTA Travel Money will join our insurance product ABTA Travel Sure to offer customers that high quality, at good value prices in a convenient and efficient way.

“By offering both foreign exchange and travel insurance products, we are also broadening our income base, allowing us to further invest in services to Members.”

ABTA has carefully selected leading Forex provider eurochange to offer the reliable and convenient travel money service on its behalf, after a competitive process which saw eurochange emerge as having the best fit with ABTA’s values and customer-centric approach.

For a small fee ABTA Travel Money also offers a refund guarantee, giving customers the option to return their currency at the same rate as when the order was made within 30 days of purchase if their travel provider cancels their holiday.”

When customers collect their order, they will need to present the debit card with which they made the order, their email confirmation and one of the following forms of ID. Passport, UK or EU photographic driving licence or a National ID card.
