UK airport disruption due to Volcanic Ash

Due to a volcanic eruption in Iceland, ABTA is urging customers to liaise with their travel provider or airline for the latest information in relation to their travel plans.

If you are overseas and are unable to travel back to the UK, it is important that you contact your travel provider or airline to discuss what options are available. This is an unusual circumstance and different providers will have different policies.

Also, insurance policies vary and it’s important that you contact your insurer for information on whether or not you are covered.

Many airlines and tour operators have posted statements on their websites and this information will be updated on a regular basis until the situation returns to normal, at this stage no timescales have been indicated.

Further information for customers and members can also be found on www.abta.com.
