ABTA’s ‘PR in Travel Training’ returns

ABTA’s one day event ‘PR in Travel’ returns on 29 June at ABTA’s offices. The practical training day will look at the current PR landscape in the travel industry and will provide guidance on managing media and PR within travel businesses, including current thinking on latest techniques and roles. 

Moderated by ABTA’s Head of Media and Communications, and with presentations from PR experts at FINN Partners, attendees will be guided through all aspects of travel PR including; planning a campaign, setting goals and objectives, building relationships with the media and measuring success. 

The day will also be an opportunity to get up to speed on the ever changing role of social media and digital PR including influencer led campaigns and balancing both digital and traditional PR.
 
Throughout the day there will be further case studies from ABTA Members. Firstly, Chloe Berman, Senior PR Manager at Intrepid, will discuss the return of press trips and destination partnerships and provide insight into how to ensure they meet your objectives.

As travel companies start to operate more sustainably Rachel O’Reilly, Director of Communications at Kuoni will update on how they communicate as they move towards working more sustainably and how they factor this into their PR campaigns.

There will also be contributions from two journalists, Jacob Lewis, Freelance Travel Journalist and former Deputy Travel Editor at The i and The Sun newspaper and also James Chapple, News Editor, TTG Media. This will be an opportunity to hear first-hand what sets pitches and press releases apart and what journalists from national and trade press want from the PR team.

ABTA’s PR in Travel Training will take place on 29 June 2022 at ABTA’s central London offices, bringing together PR and Communications professionals and key travel industry names to offer practical guidance, insights and expertise on all things travel PR.
