ABTA’s submission to the EFRA Committee on Animals Abroad Bill

ABTA has submitted evidence to the Environmental, Food and Rural Affairs (EFRA) Committee Inquiry: Animals Abroad Bill, outlining the work ABTA and our Members have been doing on animal welfare, including activities involving elephants.

ABTA supports the intention of the Animals Abroad Bill, and we are supportive of the Government taking action on the sale of tickets in the UK to attractions which involve activities like riding or bathing with elephants – ABTA’s own guidelines say these activities are unacceptable.

A copy of our submission is available here.

Our blog explains more about our work on elephants in tourism.
