Your Year at ABTA 2018-19

This week Members should have received their copy of Your Year at ABTA, which gives an overview of the work ABTA has been doing on behalf of Members over this past year.

As I say in my opening comments in the report, we are still in the midst of a political crisis around Brexit and enormous uncertainty about the future. Ensuring the voices of the industry and travelling public are heard, helping Members to prepare for whatever the outcome and supporting consumer confidence have been the three priorities of our work on Brexit – and we will continue to pursue these throughout the Brexit negotiation.

We’ve also made progress on a number of initiatives during the year to help Members get on with the business of selling holidays, including providing support and guidance through significant regulatory change such as GDPR and the Package Travel Regulations and demonstrating the value of outbound travel to the UK economy.

We have continued to expand our guidance materials and free online training in response to Members’ needs and emerging issues, which are complemented by free-to-attend Regional Business Meetings as well as our events programme.

Trust and the role of the travel expert is a theme we have been exploring this year through both our Travel with Confidence advertising campaign and new trusted travel professional animation.

You can read more about our work over the last year by downloading Your Year at ABTA.
