Whatever the vote, Brits can travel with confidence
Today’s General Election will establish a new political landscape that will affect both ABTA Members and the general travelling public. Many issues have been raised and debated over the past six weeks, including the vexed question of Brexit.
Whatever happens tonight, the next government will have an important role to play in providing the structures to enable our sector to prosper, whether that is establishing a flexible future trading relationship with the EU, working with our Members to achieve climate change goals, or providing a taxation regime that allows the industry to thrive and make a positive social and financial contribution to the UK.
In the meantime, and as people make plans for next year’s holidays, ABTA will be launching a national advertising campaign, starting on Monday, to remind people that they can book with confidence in 2020, whatever the Brexit situation, and that they should always look for the ABTA logo when choosing their holiday organiser.
