University road show – marketing opportunities

Building on the success of last year’s summer university tour and as part of the Look for the Logo campaign, ABTA is organising a university road show this February/March, aiming to reach over 17,000 students. The tour will visit seven campus universities across the UK – Edinburgh, Manchester, Newcastle, Sheffield, Southampton, University of Hertfordshire and Warwick - between the 25th February and the 6th March. 

The road show will focus on educating and engaging with the students ahead of the summer holidays to encourage them to book with an ABTA Member. The road show set will consist of an interactive game to attract the students’ attention and an information stand with information on ABTA and its Members.

There are plenty of opportunities for Members to get involved in the road show and benefit from free publicity and marketing opportunities. We are offering the opportunities on a first come-first served basis, so if you are interested in taking one of the sponsorship slots, please get in touch as soon as possible.

Headline prize sponsor:

The main draw to attract students to the ABTA stand will be a Wii video game competition. The student with the best score at the end of the tour will win a prize. We are looking for a headline sponsor to offer this prize, in exchange you will receive brand promotion on the stand, with your logo prominently displayed in the competition area, you will receive data capture from the entries of the competition and the opportunity to join us on the stand at all the seven universities and exposure to over 17,000 students.

Facebook prize sponsor:

We are also looking to run a social media competition alongside the university tour. This will also be promoted to the students at the events but will be open to anyone to enter, including our 3000+ existing Facebook fans.  In return for offering a prize for our Facebook ABTALoveTravel , you will receive PR exposure on our Facebook page and we will also post a link to the competition on blogs and other social media sites, your logo will appear on the competition app, you will receive exposure to our current Facebook audience of over 3,000 people, in addition the competition will be promoted throughout the road show to over 17,000 students. Your logo will also be displayed on the stand.

Join the road show:

You can join us on the Stand throughout the road show. We have split the day into two timeslots (10am to 2pm and 12pm – 4pm) for each day. On the day you will be able to speak to the students and hand-out brochures. We also recommend you run a data capture competition or offer discounts to the students. Your logo will also be displayed on the stand. Please indicate below which sessions you’d like to attend – you can put your name down to attend both sessions on the same day, note that if we get a lot of demand we may only be able to allocate one timeslot.
