Trek will support your industry colleagues in need

On 13th April, ABTA LifeLine Director Trudie Clements will be taking on a major challenge as part of the G Trek for Good. The trek will see her and more than 30 senior travel industry leaders walk over 100km along the Camino de Santiago in northern Spain, raising vital funds for ABTA LifeLine and Planeterra.

ABTA LifeLine is a benevolent fund and a valuable benefit for ABTA members, providing financial and emotional support to people who are currently, or have previously been, employed within the travel industry. The charity offers help to those facing a wide range of challenges, from illness and bereavement to financial hardship, covering essentials such as household bills, food, and specialist equipment.

The need for this support remains as important as ever. In recent months alone, LifeLine has supported colleagues facing long-term illness and difficult personal circumstances, providing practical help at times when it is needed most.

Now in its fifth year, G Trek for Good is aiming to raise £50,000. The funds will be shared equally between ABTA LifeLine and Planeterra, G Adventures’ non-profit partner, which supports communities around the world through tourism.

This year’s trek will be no small feat, taking place over eight days across one of the world’s most famous pilgrimage routes, and reflects the strong sense of community within our industry and the willingness to come together to support one another.

This is just one of the ways LifeLine raises funds throughout the year, and there are plenty of opportunities for members to get involved. If you would like to support the trek, you can do so via the G Trek for Good JustGiving page.
