ABTA has been made aware that Network Rail will undertake vital improvement works on the Brighton main line replacing a major rail junction near Purley, upgrading signalling at Victoria and working on a new platform at Gatwick Airport station. As a result a revised Southern service will operate during the Christmas and New Year period.

The Gatwick Express services will not run between Wednesday, 25 December and Wednesday, 1 January inclusive. Other rail services to Victoria and to London Bridge, City Thameslink, London Farringdon and Clapham Junction and rail links to destinations all around the UK may also be affected. Revised timetables will be in operation.

Customers are advised to allow more time than normal for their journey, plan their route carefully and check before they travel.
