Supporting more people through ABTA LifeLine

One of the great benefits of ABTA membership is the support provided by ABTA LifeLine, our industry's charity dedicated to helping people through difficult times.

This year the demand for that support has never been greater. Applications for assistance are around three times the level seen at this point last year.

LifeLine offers financial and practical assistance to anyone who works, or has worked, for an ABTA member business, as well as those engaged in the sale of ABTA products. For many colleagues facing financial hardship, long-term illness, bereavement, family crisis or other life-changing circumstances, LifeLine can provide a vital lifeline when it is needed most.

To continue providing this essential support, LifeLine must raise the funds needed to meet growing demand. The charity benefits enormously from the generosity of its partners and from fundraising activities across the industry, including events such as the Travel Convention. This year, delegates have the opportunity to take part in the Madeira Challenge, combining the adventure of a lifetime with the chance to raise much-needed funds for the charity.

There are also simple ways for every ABTA member business to make a difference. One of the easiest is to join the £2 Per Employee Appeal, through which businesses make an annual contribution of just £2 for each employee. Organisations can also choose to make a corporate donation directly. Becoming one of your company's chosen charities would make a significant difference to Lifeline, helping us to continue supporting travel professionals and their families when they need it most.
