Supporting Members on operational and legal issues

With people heading off on holiday in greater numbers than since the start of the pandemic, our destination and legal teams are on hand to provide advice and guidance to Members.

The Destinations team supports Members by providing up-to-date insight on what is happening in destinations across the world, through the operational bulletins service. Here you can choose to receive information on the countries you operate in, which can help you provide advice to customers as well support your operations. You can sign up to the operational bulletins here, and previous bulletins are saved in the Member Zone. The team is also available to respond to specific crisis or operational support matters you might have about a destination; you can contact them by emailing destinations@abta.co.uk. The team keeps in close contact with important stakeholders such as the FCDO, destination authorities and tourist boards.

The team also does a lot of important work on health, safety and security, including working with Members through our committees, and producing materials for Members and their suppliers. There are also materials Members can share with their customers to help keep them safe while on holiday.

There is wealth of resources and guidance on legal and regulatory matters in the ABTA Member Zone, such as guidance around the Package Travel Regulations and complying with ABTA’s Code of Conduct. The legal team can also provide specific advice to Members on matters such as your regulatory obligations for a particular booking. So, if you have a question head to the Member Zone or email membersupport@abta.co.uk.
