Supporting Members with digital marketing

Friday 1 July saw the start of the new ABTA Membership year and we are pleased to welcome all Members – old and new. 

Our latest consumer research found that 70% of people are more likely to book with an agent or operator which is an ABTA Member, than with one which is not. So, it makes sense to promote your membership to the outside world.

To help, we are providing you with a range of marketing materials. You should have received your renewals pack in the post by now, which includes your certificate, benefits of your membership and a link to download our new digital marketing assets. 

We’re also encouraging Members to share the digital assets with the hashtag #WeAreABTAMembers. Many of you have got involved already, meaning the hashtag has been seen over 220,000 times across Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram. We are also running our own social media advertising campaign to encourage people to book with an ABTA Member. The campaign content was developed based on feedback from ABTA Members. 

The new advert shares 10 reasons to book and travel with an ABTA Member, reiterating the expertise and reassurance you give customers. This message is going far and wide across Facebook and Instagram for the next two weeks alongside the video we produced earlier this year which features Members and customers. Watch the video here.

In response to reports in the media about travel disruption, ABTA has been reassuring customers through social media advertising and advising customers about the steps they can take for trouble-free airport experience. The adverts link back to our #ReadySteadyTravel campaign webpages and have been seen over 2.1 million times.
