Severe weather: England Wales and Scotland

The Met Office has reported that this storm system is expected to head on a north westerly path through north west England and Scotland, the Western and Northern Isles and Northern Ireland, with gale force winds up to 90 mph later today. More disruption to travel services is expected.

Airports and transport providers are advising customers to monitor their websites regularly for updates of their services and to allow plenty of travel time to get to their destination.

Some ferry services across the Irish Sea and English Channel crossings are cancelled, re-routed or delayed to accommodate the bad weather conditions.

Customers due to travel are advised to liaise with their airline, transport provider and tour operator regarding any disruptions to their flight schedules or travel itineraries.
