Registration opening for The Travel Convention

Registration for The Travel Convention taking place from 12-14 October 2015 opens at 9am on Monday 23 February at a discounted Early Bird registration fee.

The Travel Convention will be held at Costa Navarino located in the Greek region of Messinia in southwest Peloponnese.  Costa Navarino comprises two 5-star deluxe hotels, state-of-the-art conference facilities, world-class spa centres, two signature golf courses as well as a range of other activities.

ABTA has taken over the Westin Resort Costa Navarino in entirety for delegate accommodation.  The House of Events is connected to the Hotel, so transfers will only be needed for those social events held outside of the Resort.

Luxury accommodation is offered at heavily discounted prices through the Convention’s accommodation provider, Sunvil Holidays, following registration for the event. Special direct flights to Kalamata Airport, the closest airport to Costa Navarino, are being provided by Aegean Airlines with outbound flights on Sunday 11 and Monday 12 October and return flights on Wednesday 14 and Thursday 15 October.  Seats are available in both economy and club classes.

Mark Tanzer, ABTA Chief Executive said: “Over the years The Travel Convention has taken place in some outstanding destinations and venues and Costa Navarino continues this exceptional tradition.  I would encourage delegates to take advantage of the Early Bird fees when registration opens on Monday and to reserve their seats on the direct Aegean Airlines flights from London Gatwick into Kalamata as these are bound to sell quickly.”

This year, the business sessions will finish at 3.30pm providing free time for networking prior to the evening social events.

Costa Navarino is the prime sustainable destination in the Mediterranean with unspoiled and breath-taking seaside landscapes. The Peloponnese enjoys an extended season, so it is anticipated that the Convention will benefit from good weather and delegates will be able to take advantage of the various activities available within the resort.

The Travel Convention is being hosted by the Region of Peloponnese and the Greek National Tourist Office supported by Costa Navarino, the Westin Resort Costa Navarino and Aegean Airlines.

The Travel Convention is the UK travel industry’s flagship event; providing inspiration to delegates through a programme of thought-provoking content as well as time to network with peers and experts working closely with the industry. It is attended by senior decision makers, influencers and opinion formers spanning the full breadth of the mainstream and specialist travel sector; from cruise lines, tour operators, hotels and airlines to all forms of travel retailer.  It is also attended by travel industry specialists, such as accountants, lawyers, insurance providers; as well as those providing business knowledge and advice, from technology providers to marketing experts. The Travel Convention attracts around 30 travel journalists from the UK national, consumer and travel trade press – more than any other UK travel industry conference.
