This month we’re taking part in The Travel Foundation’s Make Holidays Greener Month and we’re asking Members to make a pledge to help make holidays greener.
Make Holidays Greener month is a chance for the travel industry to show why greener holidays are so important and for you to showcase your work in this area. This year’s theme is ‘link to what’s local’, raising awareness about the things that make holidays really special – local culture, local delicacies and souvenirs, local history, the environment and above all, local people.
ABTA believes that sustainable tourism is all about creating Better Places to live and visit and that’s why we’re asking you to make a pledge this July. Why not hold a local food evening for customers and staff, take a training quiz or make sure your team knows which are your greenest products.
There’s lots of ways to get involved, and the Make Holidays Greener website has a full list of pledges. You can find out what others are doing and let us know what you’ve been up to, by tweeting with the hashtag #greenerholidays.
