Places filling up fast for Travel Convention charity bike ride

All proceeds go towards ABTA LifeLine and Moroccan charity Amal

With just over a month to go until this year’s Travel Convention, ABTA LifeLine is urging delegates to sign up to the charity’s cycle ride on Monday 10 October while spaces last.

Supported by Intrepid Travel and Avis Budget Group, the cycle ride will be led by Intrepid’s female tour guides and offer a unique perspective on some of Marrakech’s most impressive historical sights and rich cultural traditions.

As well as showcasing two UNESCO World Heritage Sites – the centuries-old Al-Manara Gardens and Agdal Gardens – highlights include exploring the traditional villages of The Palmary and visiting the second oldest golf course in Morocco.

The ride ends with a delicious lunch made from local ingredients at the Amal Association, a local non-profit dedicated to the empowerment of disadvantaged women through restaurant training and placements. Further details of this year’s itinerary can be found at thetravelconvention.com/cycle-for-lifeline.

Since it began in 2017, ABTA LifeLine’s charity bike ride has become a hugely popular fixture on the Convention’s programme of events, offering an active way to explore the host destination and raise money for a good cause.

ABTA LifeLine Director, Trudie Clements, said:

“The ABTA LifeLine cycle ride has become a much-loved feature of the Travel Convention as it allows delegates to really get to grips with the host city while also giving back to the industry and showing their support for colleagues in need.

“By working with Amal, we’re also offering delegates the chance to uncover a different side to Marrakech and extend their support to an incredibly important cause within the host destination.”

Tickets cost £45 per person, including cycle hire, helmet, and lunch, with all proceeds going towards ABTA LifeLine and Amal.
Delegates can book tickets when registering for the Travel Convention at thetravelconvention.com/registration or by emailing moreinfo@thetravelconvention.com.
