Peer powered travel

The emergence of the peer-to-peer marketplace in travel has been the subject of much discussion and media attention, often controversial. ABTA supports diversity and choice in the market, but we believe that customers have certain expectations and rights regarding travel accommodation, irrespective of how it is purchased. Whether it is a question of quality, safety, or protection of the customers’ money, we believe that new distribution models should be held to the same standards as traditional models. The growth of this distribution model certainly raises questions for the industry and for travel businesses but it also provides opportunities for established travel companies to maintain their ground and find new opportunities. That’s why we are delighted to be announcing that HouseTrip’s Chief Marketing Officer Zaid Al-Qassab, will be speaking at The Travel Convention, offering his take on the phenomenal growth of this sector and giving the industry the opportunity to pose questions. We will also of course hear from more established businesses to get their take on this new phenomenon. With the insights that Zaid will undoubtedly offer, this promises to be a session not to be missed – and with just over seven weeks to go until The Travel Convention, if you haven’t already registered, please visit The Travel Convention website for more information.
