Mark Tanzer comments on this year's Travel Matters speaker line up

The annual ABTA Travel Matters conference has become a must attend event in the diaries of many travel industry leaders, offering the opportunity to hear from and discuss issues with key decision makers from Westminster and Whitehall. This year’s event which will take place on 18 June, is no exception and we have managed to attract speakers of an extremely high calibre including the Aviation Minister Robert Goodwill MP and the Shadow Secretary for Transport, Mary Creagh MP. The theme of the day will be ‘Targeting Growth, 2015 and Beyond’ focusing on how the industry can deliver economic growth to the next general election, and beyond. I am looking forward to sharing a panel with industry leaders to discuss industry hot topics and in a year dominated by interesting results in the EU elections, the ongoing debate around school holiday pricing and the upcoming referendum in Scotland, there will be no shortage of subjects for a lively discussion. Travel Matters is also a really valuable opportunity to update delegates from within the industry, government and the media on reform of Air Passenger Duty, Package Travel and ATOL Reform as well as discussing the pressing need for increased airport capacity and the next stages for the Airports Commission. Please do follow and join the discussion throughout the day by following @ABTATravel #TravelMatters.
