Less than one week until ABTA’s Brexit Preparations event

With just six weeks until the UK’s transition period ends on 31 December, ABTA is holding a free-to-attend event for Members and Partners.

Taking place on the morning of 25 November, join over 400 industry peers and get advice on the key issues facing travel businesses from 1 January including:

  • Package travel financial protection.
  • Commercial contracts and relationships.
  • Data management.
  • Customer information.
  • VAT TOMS.

The event will be streamed live and moderated by ABTA’s Director of Events and Partnerships, Alice Catterall. Alice will be joined by other speakers from ABTA including Director of Public Affairs, Luke Petherbridge, who will provide an update on latest Government agreements and, if timely, an update on the outcome of on-going negotiations.

Alice will also be joined by ABTA’s Director of Legal Affairs, Simon Bunce, and Director of Membership, John de Vial. Simon and John will be sharing guidance on package travel financial protection from 1 January, discussing key considerations when selling to consumers in the EEA and UK customers from the EEA.
As well as ABTA speakers, attendees will hear from finance Partners, The Travel Trade Consultancy, Elman Wall Bennett and WorldFirst on key business considerations, VAT TOMS and FX. Legal Partners, Fox Williams, Kemp Little, Kennedys and Travlaw, will also be on hand with guidance surrounding workforces in the EU, commercial relationships, data management and customer information.

As part of the event, attendees will be able to select a business surgery on a topic of their choice and get their specific business questions answered. There will be seven one hour sessions on the following topics:

  1. Currency and managing FX risk.
