Get involved in the FCO 'Take your pic' youth campaign

ABTA is supporting the FCO's summer campaign 'Take your pic' and encourages Members to get involved.

The social media campaign aims to reduce the number of preventable problems faced by young British holidaymakers over the summer months. Tackling issues such as drink spiking, fighting, balcony falls, room damages, travel insurance, passport losses and arrests, the campaign seeks to reframe the story. It’s not about what they’ve done wrong, or what they should or shouldn’t do – it’s about presenting the options and putting the behavioural decision firmly in their own hands.

Take your pic – will it be a #holidaywin or a #holidayfail?

We highlight positive, happy (safe!) #holidaywin moments that are typically being shared as ‘selfies’ by the audience on their social channels, and counteract this with a picture of a #holidayfail – being on a drip in a hospital, a massive bill for medical care, a cold and frightening prison cell.  We simply ask the audience to ‘Take your pic’ between the two options.

We invite Members who can help reach young 17-25yr old holiday makers to get in touch with the FCO Partnerships team to discuss working together by emailing info@knowbeforeyougopartnerships.co.uk.

Additionally, a library of assets will be available for you to use through your own communication channels.
