Consumer information: France air traffic control strikes

The France air traffic control strike has today been called off.

24 June 2014

Members of one of the unions representing French Air Traffic controllers will be going on strike from 24-29 June.

Although many flights to France will continue to operate, if you are due to fly to France from 24-29 June you should check the status of your flight on your airline’s website which will be updated on a day by day basis .

If your flight is cancelled you will be allowed the option to rebook or have a full refund. Customers booked on package holidays whose flights have been cancelled will be offered the options to rebook an alternative destination, travel at a later date or a full refund. Independent travellers should check with their insurance company to see if cancellation fees for unused accommodation, car hire or other associated services are covered.

Emergency plans have also been drawn up to reroute flights to other countries which would normally fly over France. This may add to the length of flights and lead to delays.

For further advice on your rights if your flight is delayed see our flight delays and cancellation tips in our Go Travel section.
