Christmas, past, present and future

As we reflect on the past year it is clear that 2019 has presented some huge challenges for our industry.

As the industry readjusts following the collapse of Thomas Cook and enters a new political landscape following last week’s General Election, there will of course be more change to come.

Yet, looking forward, customers continue to be committed to travelling and their love of taking holidays remains, as Members respond to exciting new trends in the market.

Next year will mark ABTA’s 70th anniversary – more of which to follow – and the Association’s role will be more important than ever, helping our Members to build successful businesses and to give customers confidence in travelling.

To help ABTA to continue do this effectively we need your feedback on the services we provide and I’d like to thank everyone that took part in this year’s Member survey, which closed last week – it has had more responses than ever. We will share some headlines from this in the New Year. Congratulations also go to Claire Moore from Peakes Travel Elite who won the competition prize.

Finally, on behalf of everyone at ABTA, I’d like to wish you, your families and colleagues a happy, healthy and successful 2020.

Mark Tanzer, Chief Executive
