ABTA was very saddened to hear of the death this week of Bill Maxwell.

Bill served on the ABTA Membership and Code Committees, as well as the ABTA Board, Travel Agents Council and the UK Tourism Committee.

Bill was a long term supporter and Trustee of ABTA Lifeline, demonstrating a tireless enthusiasm and passion supporting industry colleagues in their hour of need.

Bill had a very long career with Wallace Arnold, followed by many years of consultancy, committee and voluntary work. He received an honorary doctorate from Leeds Metropolitan University in recognition of his work with them.

Bill will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Our thoughts are with his wife Eva and daughter Amy.
