A Beginner’s guide to Travel Law 2015

Last week, ABTA held a one-day training workshop, a Beginner’s Guide to Travel Law.

The event informed delegates on the basics of travel law including financial protection, ATOL rules, Package Travel (with recent updates) and the essential elements needed to develop a contract.

The day was sponsored by ABTA Partner, asb law, who provided expertise through a number of presentations as well as answering questions from delegates throughout the day. Senior speakers from ABTA also discussed financial protection, consumer regulations and cooling off periods, amongst other things.

The interactive sessions gave delegates a plethora of information and learning outcomes. There was a chance to ask questions and get expert advice on the various ABTA guidance notes available to Members. With the use of a game requiring audience participation, the practical examples within the session ‘Understanding financial protection’, were both informative and fun.

It was a really well received day and delegates had an opportunity to network during the drinks reception at the end of a productive day.

One comment received in our feedback already: ‘Really well organised, informative event with great speakers.’

This workshop is accredited by The Law Society and Bar Standards Board. Delegates can claim an equivalent of 4 ½ hours CPD points for this event.
