We’ve recently partnered with BritMums, a social network backed by more than 8,000 social lifestyle influencers, to host a twitter chat. The chat was part of our annual Travel with confidence campaign, with the objective to promote the benefits of booking with an ABTA Member travel company.
Using the hashtag #beABTAsmart, the twitter chat ran for an hour over a lunchtime and had some great engagement. Some of the conversation focused on hints and tips for going away with family, particularly small children, and it was a great opportunity to promote ABTA Members, the benefits of booking with our Members, the expertise ABTA Members have, as well as promote the wider health and safety and travel insurance messages. A couple of Members took the opportunity to get involved with the conversation as well, offering tips and advice and showcasing the expertise travel companies have.
Initial reports show that we had over 10m impressions with around 400 questions/comments tweeted using the hashtag.
We will be looking to use similar channels as part of our annual advertising campaigns in the future to promote the ABTA message and encourage consumers to always look for the ABTA logo when booking their travel arrangements.
