Angelo Carraro, ex ABTA Board Member and long-time member of the ABTA membership committee, passed away late last week. Angelo worked in the industry for many years in numerous roles culminating as CEO of Italian specialist Carefree Travel. Angelo was a much liked and respected man – ABTA and our Members owe him a debt of gratitude for all his hard work and support over the years.
Noel Josephides, Chair of ABTA’s Membership Committee paid tribute:
‘Angelo was a true travel industry character – there are few such personalities left. He was always there to cheer us up. Our thoughts are with his family.’
John de Vial, Director of Membership and Financial Protection added:
‘Angelo was a good friend and supporter of ABTA, the team and the work of the Membership Committee. A kind man who always had time for everyone. He was thoughtful and supportive of Members, but also a good judge of when someone was trying it on. A gentleman and a character who will be missed very much.’
