ABTA’s Beginner's Guide to Travel Law

Travel industry professionals attended ABTA’s Beginners Guide to Travel Law Seminar on 12 July 2016.

The event covered a wide range of current legal issues for the travel industry including; an update on the Package Travel Directive; consumer protection legislation; financial protection; managing claims; cancellation and delay. John Snyder from Carnival was a big hit, contributing real life examples from the cruise industry. Matt Gatenby, ABTA Partner+ Travlaw LLP Solicitors, facilitated and sponsored the Seminar and said "What a fantastic event – a room filled to capacity with informed delegates who wanted to learn more, and were some of the most engaging I have ever come across. Clearly some issues, such as cancellation charges, the effects of Brexit and how to deal with more complex complaints and claims are very much in the mind of the industry at the moment. The attendees have walked away armed with more knowledge as to how to go forward, as well as a new set of networked contacts to work with in the future".
