ABTA is aware that strike action by some security personnel at Barcelona airport, will take place, starting today, Friday 4 August. Strike action is expected every Friday, Sunday and Monday throughout the summer with one-hour stoppages taking place at 05:30, 10:30, 16:30 and 18:30 hours. This may cause a slower than normal service due to reduced staff working at these times, and may increase queuing time through security baggage checks.

Holidaymakers travelling through Barcelona Airport should allow extra time to get through the airport and arrive early to ensure that sufficient time is available to check in, pass through security and get to the gate in time for their flights.
