Following an explosion in Ankara on Sunday 13 March, ABTA recommends that people should follow the advice of the Foreign & Commonwealth Office which is to avoid the area and follow the advice of the local authorities. Around a million British holidaymakers visit Turkey every year. However, the capital Ankara is not a prime tourist destination and the main tourist resorts are hundreds of miles away.
