ABTA: Services for Members

ABTA has recently sent Members the new Member Services booklet which outlines the kinds of services ABTA offers to help companies save money and run successful and profitable businesses.

  • The ABTA brand retains a high profile and the public relations team helps to ensure that the benefits of booking with an ABTA Member are understood. ABTA Members adhere to good business practice, provide reassurance, high professional standards and offer choice, value and quality.
  • Saving money. ABTA’s Single Payment Scheme saves money and reduces administration, while other services are negotiated for Members at a discounted rate (frequently through the Travel Industry Partner Scheme) - including ABTA’s numerous helplines, merchant service rates and insurance policies.
  • Free Legal Advice. ABTA supports Members with all kinds of legal advice, whether it is with help putting together booking conditions, providing the right documentation, or advice on disputes. Information is provided on the Members’ area of abta.com and if members can’t find what they are looking for on the site, ABTA staff have a wide experience of answering Members’ queries and giving expert advice on legal matters.
  • The website - abta.com can be used by Members to promote their businesses, their holiday offers and job vacancies free of charge. It is also a mine of useful business information and up-to-date world news affecting holiday destinations.
  • News is supplemented by the award-winning email newsletter ABTA Today which provides essential developments that may affect business, from new legislation through to events and offers.
  • Crisis Management.  ABTA provides an out-of-hours text alert service, and a free crisis support helpline. ABTA can also help with emergency planning and procedures.
  • Lobbying. ABTA will continue to lobby in the UK and EU on behalf of members on taxation, financial protection and other burdensome regulation.

Growing Businesses. Networking and professional development are key to growing businesses and ABTA organises a variety of events to update industry knowledge and to meet key travel industry people. The Travel Convention is the most important of these events and is the premier event in the travel industry calendar.
