ABTA runs regional workshops for Members on ATOL Call for Evidence

“Visiting Five Regions in June and July plus Webinar”

ABTA is encouraging Members to attend a series of regional workshops concerning the Department for Transport’s Call for Evidence on its review of the implementation and funding arrangements for financial protection under the ATOL scheme. Speakers from ABTA and the Department for Transport will be on hand in the workshops which run throughout June and July to discuss the Call for Evidence and field questions from the floor. A webinar will also be run for those unable to attend a regional event in person.

The workshops will offer ABTA Members the opportunity to get on overview directly from the DfT on the issues under review as well as an analysis from ABTA of the significance of the review. Experts from both the DfT and ABTA will be on hand to answer questions on all aspects and implications of the review. The full DFT Call for Evidence document can be accessed on www.abta.com and the closing date for the responses is 15 August.

John de Vial ABTA Head of Financial Protection said: “The DfT’s Call for Evidence on the future implementation and funding of the ATOL scheme is an extremely important issue for all our ABTA Members, particularly those who hold an ATOL. The review of the future of the ATOL scheme has the potential to have a significant impact on businesses and I would strongly urge Members to come along to their local regional meeting or log on to our webinar. We want Members to be fully informed and it is also essential that we have their views to help us prepare ABTA’s response to the Call for Evidence.”
