ABTA reveals destination for 2024 Travel Convention
Costa Navarino in Greece to host the 2024 ABTA Travel Convention
ABTA is delighted to announce that this year’s Travel Convention will be held in Costa Navarino, Messinia, in the southwest Peloponnese in Greece, from 7-9 October 2024.
The Host Partner for this year’s event is the Greek National Tourism Organisation.
Located on the pristine shores of the Ionian Sea, Costa Navarino is a growing destination comprising a number of distinct sites featuring 5-star luxury resorts, signature golf courses, sports and leisure facilities, world-class spas, signature golf courses and private residences.
Navarino Dunes, the destination’s first resort area hosted the 2015 Travel Convention shortly after its launch. The second area of development, Navarino Bay, is home to two five-star resorts, a signature golf course and has recently welcomed Navarino Agora, a curated marketplace, open to guests and locals, featuring a range of retail stores, restaurants, an open-air cinema and entertainment venues. In close proximity, Navarino Hills features two new golf courses, overlooking the historic Bay of Navarino and the Ionian Sea.
Costa Navarino is a 45 minute-drive from Kalamata International Airport. Details of suitable flights for attendees will be available soon.
Mark Tanzer, ABTA Chief Executive, said:
“I am very pleased to reveal Costa Navarino as the host destination for our 2024 Travel Convention. Rich in natural beauty and a remarkable cultural heritage, this emerging area of Greece is a brilliant addition to the country’s tourism offering. I know our delegates will thoroughly enjoy experiencing everything the area has to offer and raising its profile with UK travellers.
“We’re returning to Greece at a time when the country is developing its tourism offering to attract visitors all-year round. With UK holidaymakers increasingly looking to travel out of peak season, I’m excited to offer the opportunity for delegates to explore this destination, which has seen continued development since it hosted the Convention almost ten years ago.”
Eleni Skarveli, Director of the Greek National Tourism Organisation in UK & Ireland, said:
“We are absolutely delighted to be the host of ABTA’s esteemed 2024 Travel Convention, solidifying and deepening our exceptional partnership across all levels. Nestled in the heart of the Peloponnese, we are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to showcase the epitome of Greek hospitality, the splendour of nature, and the rich cultural tapestry to the British tourism elite.
“We are particularly pleased that ABTA’s Convention will align with Greece’s philosophy of a shared commitment to environmental and social responsibility. We are confident that the environment of Costa Navarino will seamlessly harmonise to offer a unique and discerning experience to all participants.”
