ABTA response to Select Committee Inquiry on the impact of Brexit on tourism

We are calling for the Committee to recognise the enormous potential of the UK’s travel and tourism industry, with a particular emphasis on the value of outbound travel which is worth £11.3bn in direct economic contribution to the UK annually, supporting over 200,000 jobs. ABTA has identified five immediate priorities for the sector; continued access to liberalised aviation markets; access to EU employment markets to enable operational consistency; continuation of visa-free travel; secured continuation of the European Health Insurance Card scheme and finally the need to explore how the best regulatory systems can be delivered once the UK has left the EU.
