ABTA in the news - September and October round-up

September and October were busy months for ABTA’s press office with the team reacting to issues ranging from Ebola to school holiday pricing, the Thailand murders and the Scottish referendum. The team worked to ensure the industry voice was heard on these key topics and to reassure consumers and present facts and common sense advice where necessary.

At The Travel Convention in September ABTA held a press conference to announce the findings of ABTA’s annual Consumer Holiday Trends Report with 25 journalists present.  The findings of the report highlight key trends in holiday bookings and the report positions ABTA and its Members as authorities on the industry. The report was also designed and made available as a PDF for Members, it has had 1,074 downloads and is available here.

In the past two months ABTA has been mentioned in 662 print articles and we have participated in 66 broadcast interviews to promote the Association and its Members, including BBC Breakfast, Sky News, BBC Radio Five and many regional radio stations.
