ABTA in the news – November & December round-up

During November and December ABTA commented on a range of topics in the media to promote and protect the industry. This included providing advice to consumers who were affected by flight delay and cancellations as a result of the technical problem at NATS affecting Air Traffic Control. ABTA also provided reassurance to customers who were travelling to Kenya and offered advice to those affected by the Typhoon in the Philippines. We issued comments on the importance of booking ski chalets with an ABTA Member due to the potential risk of online booking fraud, and we continued to remind customers of the benefits of booking early - highlighting some of the great deals available for travelling on public holidays during the festive period.

ABTA’s press office was also busy issuing press releases on the festive getaway and we published our 2014 Travel Trends report. Both received wide spread media coverage both in print and broadcast. In total ABTA received 1208 print, broadcast and online mentions during the month and was featured on a range of broadcast media including BBC Breakfast x3, BBC News 24, Sky News x2, BBC Radio 4 You and Yours, Radio 5 x2.
