In March ABTA commented on a range of topics in the media. This included trends on the high street, air passenger rights, travelling uninsured, the situation in Cyprus and the Easter getaway. There was particular media interest in the Easter getaway due to the freezing weather, we estimated 1.7 million Brits were heading overseas, an increase of 200,000 people when compared to 2012, resulting in 590 pieces of media coverage and 25 broadcast interviews in two days. In total ABTA received over 1050 print, broadcast and online mentions during the month.
