ABTA Members encouraged to get behind ‘Swim Safe’ campaign this summer

Second year of popular campaign includes new assets for Members

As peak season gets underway, ABTA is relaunching its ‘Swim Safe campaign’ with new assets for ABTA Members. The campaign will also target consumers later in the summer with tips on how to be water aware this summer.

ABTA has produced new assets for Members including downloadable posters which can be displayed in resorts and shops or online, targeting two of the most at risk groups: families with small children, and young people. In addition ABTA has developed advice on abta.com/swimsafe and will be distributing tips across its social media channels throughout the summer. ABTA Members are also encouraged to use and share two short animated videos, designed for use on Instagram and other channels, which offer tips on water safety.

The campaign will once again be supported by Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) consular teams, who provided considerable support in 2014 distributing ABTA’s poster and tips across their international network and social media channels.

Mark Tanzer, ABTA Chief Executive said: "Swimming is an important part of so many people’s holidays, and as we head into peak summer season, we will be reminding holidaymakers to follow some straightforward tips to ensure they ‘swim safe’. We want ABTA Members to get on board with the campaign by sharing these safety tips, posters and videos with their staff and their customers.”
