ABTA CEO Mark Tanzer speaks at Aviation reception

ABTA CEO Mark Tanzer spoke at an ABTA/Airport Operators Association/Airlines UK/BAR-UK/IATA/Sustainable Aviation reception in Parliament this week. The audience included the Aviation Minister Lord Callanan, who recently spoke at ABTA’s Travel Matters event, MPs, peers and senior industry figures. Mark Tanzer used the occasion to emphasise the importance of getting a deal on Brexit, especially on aviation, to protect the industry’s right to fly people across the world, as well as the need for extra runway capacity at Heathrow. He welcomed the Government’s assurances that this would be put in place, but stressed the need for a solution to be delivered quickly and not loading unaffordable costs on users. He reminded the audience of the importance of giving Members time to plan for any changes that may come out of the Brexit process and for the need to ensure as seamless a transition as possible, including a continuation of vital consumer protection.
