ABTA appoints PR companies

ABTA - The Travel Association has appointed Siren PR to support its 60th anniversary campaign next year, 2010. Digital Drums Travel, part of Brighter PR will also contribute to the project.

“Our 60th anniversary is a great opportunity for us to invigorate the ABTA brand both to consumers and to our Members,“ said Casia Zajac, Head of Communications.

“The travel industry has some very important current issues to deal with such as sustainability, reform of European package travel legislation and the UK ATOL scheme in addition to substantial hikes in air passenger duty.

“Siren responded to our brief with flair and passion but importantly, gave us a strong sense of expertise and ability to deliver. We have worked with Digital Drums previously and will tap into their experience for a digital part of the project”

Rachel O’Connor, managing director Siren PR said: “Despite the huge changes over recent years in the way people are booking and searching for travel, ABTA continues to remain as relevant and recognisable to consumers as it’s ever been.  Millions of holidaymakers every year put their trust in ABTA member tour operators and travel agencies. Everyone at Siren is extremely excited about celebrating what is great about the association - the importance of financial security, great products and exemplary customer service.

She continued, “Winning this account reflects not only Siren's travel sector knowledge, but also our growth and development over the last few years as an agency capable of punching above its weight and working with large brands needing strong and deliverable consumer campaigns”
