I’m considering taking my holiday complaint to arbitration, how much will it cost?

You’ll need to pay a registration fee, and the amount of the fee depends on the amount you’re claiming. Each party is responsible for the cost of making their case, including postage, stationery, photocopying and legal representation, if used.

Claim amount Fee
£1.00-£7,500 £108.00
£7,501-£25,000  £135

ABTA advice
Don’t over-egg the claim – be realistic and fair about the amount you’re claiming. The chance of receiving a full refund plus the cost of the holiday is slim, both at arbitration and in court. The arbitrator or judge wants to see that both parties have acted reasonably in trying to resolve a claim prior to instigating proceedings.
