If I take my holiday complaint to arbitration, can I start the process and settle it halfway through?

Either party has a right to enter settlement negotiations at any time before the arbitrator makes an award.

Negotiations are private discussions between the parties and you should correspond directly with the other party and not through the administrator.

Both parties, however, must notify the administrator and ABTA of a successful settlement so that the arbitration can be terminated.

ABTA advice
If you feel at any stage that you wish to accept an offer made by the company contact them first to see whether it’s still available.

Please note that if you’ve already paid for the arbitration to proceed you will not be entitled to a refund.
